Our Commitment to Accessibility

Macon CCDC is committed to ensuring that our website is accessible to all visitors, including people with disabilities. We are actively working to improve the accessibility of our website and to conform with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA.

Current Accessibility Status

Our website has undergone a Phase 1 automated accessibility audit conducted by 54 Design Group, LLC using Axe DevTools Pro and Screaming Frog. The audit reviewed all pages on our website against WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards.

Key findings and actions taken:

  • Three accessibility issues — navigation link color contrast, social media icon link labels, and button text contrast — have been fully resolved as of March 18, 2026.

  • One remaining Serious issue — insufficient color contrast for page headline text displayed over banner images — is being remediated and will be resolved by May 17, 2026.

  • One Moderate issue related to image link labeling was reviewed and resolved on March 18, 2026.

Manual testing — including keyboard navigation, screen reader testing, and color contrast verification — will be completed by April 17, 2026. Any additional findings will be added to this statement and remediated within 60 days.

Remediation Plan

Our remediation is being completed in three phases:

Phase 1 — Automated findings remediated by: May 17, 2026
Phase 2 — Manual testing completed by: April 17, 2026
Phase 3 — Manual testing findings remediated by: June 16, 2026

This Accessibility Statement will be updated with the results of manual testing upon completion of Phase 2 on April 17, 2026.

Manual Testing

The current audit covers only automated testing. Manual testing — including keyboard navigation, NVDA screen reader testing, and color contrast verification — will be completed by April 17, 2026. Findings from manual testing will be added to this statement at that time.
